It could also be something as simple as an improperly adjusted clutch pedal- where in the range does your clutch disengage? If it's not high enough you might not be getting full disengagement or not getting it soon enough, that could cause grinding. Also remember to raise the cruise control switch/clutch pedal upper stop when you adjust the master cylinder to raise the disengagement point. Try bleeding the clutch line, also check for leaks in the master and slave boots as if they go bad they might not build enough pressure for full disengagement on a fast shift. Do the clutch pedal play test when you have the cruise switch backed off just for the heck of it.

If all that fails, just don't beat on your car until you have the money to get the tranny rebuilt.
well i dont have cruise controll cause the guy brfore me had it and took it off for reasons unknown my clutch engages about half way up and fully releases almost at the top of the pedal....i think i might bleed the clutch line tho
