By the time the first group was done with their runs, the grass on the line was pretty much gone. I didn't have a problem with it.
If one were so motivated, one could even knock down the big clumps in the racing line with a string trimmer at the beginning of the day...
Probably less work than trying to kill ALL the grass and keep it dead...
