injen and aem intakes replace the MAF housing, by doing that it will create a lean environment, thats how it makes power, by leaning it out, but by doing that you also run the risk of blowing something expensive once you turn the boost up, the stock airbox itself isn't all that restrictive, same with the maf housing, its the silencer before the airbox and the paper filter
