i didn't belive it either when my former boss told me either but I have seen it,. i the last two years i have seen no 5spd mk3 with a broken timingbelt have valve damage but every auto has had damage. This is my experiance, the shop i wokrd in in RI did nothing but volkwagen since 1964, has won 5 or 6 circletrack championships in 4cly division at two diffent tracks including last year with watter cooled VW's.

This is my experiance im not going to get in to a name calling contest with anyone, take what i have to say and picth it out the window.like i said this has been my experiance.
