who wouldnt? me... i mean, who had the bright idea of putting the diff in the oil pan? and why is it that you have to replace the headgasket in order to make serious HP numbers on it? and why is it so heavy? if it was soo good, Nissan would still be using it in the JGTC.
the 300Z TT is good for what it is. its meant to be bought, driven and be a nice sporty car to drive from point A to point B. it is not tuner friendly at ALL...ever.
-ever see the turbos on a Z32? oh wait, no thats impossible, theres too much shit in the way, including the firewall itself
-Ever see the turbos off a Z32? oh wait, they are so small, you probably would think its just a garden snail... i mean, seriously, a TB25?
-Ever see the fuel map for 5th gear? oh wait, no one has but its the reason why people melt pistons on top speed runs due to the completely different map compared to the other gears.
-Ever see the O2 housings off a TB25? they are about 2" long and force the exhaust to make a 3" jog downward just to get past the firewall.
-Ever see the Turbo inlet Ducts? oh wait, thats impossible because they are like 10 feet long and snake around every other thing in the front end of the car to come out up front and funnel thru ONE MAF.
-Ever see an engine harness intact? oh wait, thats impossible too cuz the harness is routed RIGHT over the turbos and the heat causes the plastic to deteriorate and cooks the oils out of it and any time you remove a connector, it shatters.
-Ever see the heads off the car w/ just the short-block sittin the chassis? oh wait, thats "impossible" according to the Technical Service repair manual and all dealer techs. it calls for engine removal to pull the heads (FYI, joeyk has accomplished this feat however)
-Ever see the driverside Cold pipe still mounted to the radiator core support? Oh wait thats probably impossible too. every Z32 tt ive ever seen had a broken mount on the cold pipe where its supposed to mount to the body, before the TB inlet... for some unknown reason.
-Ever see the lower bolts on the intake manifolds? oh wait, no thats impossible too. in fact, you cant even remove the lower bolts w/ a socket wrench, let alone see what you are getting at. you have to remove it w/ a box end wrench, but if you back it out too far, the manifold runner is in the way and you have to tighten the bolt back in to remove the end wrench and remove the bolt by hand... then once the bolt is full un-threaded, there is JUST enough room between the bolt hole and the runner for the bolt to drop Straight down... no, it doesnt just pull out.
-Ever see a Z32 get out of the hole like a bat out of hell? oh wait, no thats impossible, unless you remove the rear subframe bushings and use solid mounts like one-arm Harry in Bradenton.
-Ever see a VG30DETT making 1000 rwhp? oh wait, thats "impossible" too.
-Ever see the manifold pressure balance tube? whats that about?
-Ever see the cluster-fuck maze of Fuel feed and return lines starting at the fuel filter?
lets face it guys. the car is meant to be driven and never taken apart. its a VERY bad ass car out of the box and off the showroom floor. but when it comes to even mundane maintenance, its an all day task for even experience mechanics. everything is crammed in that engine bay so tightly.
soooo... what is so great about this car that makes it a "Super car"?
i mean, not to gas any Jews here... they are nice lookin cars, thats for sure!
