What is the best way?

I'm moving to PA and I am considering sending everything I own by train. Luckily that only calls for loading up my car...but as for the bike - what the hell do I do with it? I dont think I can exactly UPS it up there. I was pondering getting some sort of trailor to latch on to my car for it...hmmm, I just dont know.

What is the best/safest way to transport a bike across the country?
