I have had my VW for about 7 months now and I dont know when the last owner changed teh coolant so I decided to do it this weekend..


I goto the VW dealership (lokey in clearwater) and I ask the service guy for G11 coolant (because thats whats printed on the side of my overflow bottle). I tell him I have a 96 GTI 2.0L and he tells me I need G12. I tell him my car says use only G11 and he says "I think you need the Blue coolant!!!"

What the hell is the blue coolant????

Then I ask him is the blue stuff G11... He pauses for a minute and says yeah I think. then precedes to tell me this: " you need the red coolant. You shouldnt have the stuff thats in there now (he has no idea what coolant is in my car he didnt even see it). You need to do a flush and put this red stuff in, its G12."

I get so pissed I just leave...

Can someone tell me what to use and where to get it.
