I was up till 2:30 last night. My fingers are all cut up.
The MX-6 ended up with 90-90-90-60 compression. I might try oil in the cylinders to see if that goes up, which then I guess my piston rings are shot. Figured they were before, but imagine how long it would have taken for me to do that too. We'd be on alternative fuels when I finish.
The RX-7 I put the only ATF I had around (at midnight, I'm not walking to Wal-mart 5 miles away) was from a box of Amsoil synthetic ATF. Never got around to changing it in the Tempo, so I guess this is a good of use as any.
Put it in, turned the engine by hand around 1:30 to slosh the stuff around to cover stuff better. Hopefully it's just a bit of carbon.
Now when I start this...there's gonna be quite a bit of ATF in there...I should purge it first right? Had I been starting the car at night I wouldn't care...but my neighbors are all up and walking around. Maybe I'll just start calling a game of bingo and catch em by surprise with the smoke show? (;
Anyhow...reading on rx7club.com I read to purge the ATF. I've turned it by hand some more this morning, both forward and backward, to maybe break whatever up that might be the problem.
We'll see.
