oil starvation is the #1 cause of spun rod bearing
extreme heat will make oil lose its viscosity therefore depleting its lubrication properties.
spining a motor 9k when it wasnt meant to be spun that high will do that also...mostly because the oil pump wasnt not made to supply oil at that rate
also because the motor isnt balanced to spin that high either causing excessive bearing wear.
yup that basicaly sum's it up....easly fixed
