In his second NDRA outing, Oklahoma's Chuck Seitsinger stunned the pack with a 8.913 @ 160mph pass to take second. Joe Demaree, in his blue and yellow SSC , posted a 9.044 @ 162mph effort, which was good enough to remain in third going into the elimination round. Andrew Bermea drove in all the way from Texas and looked sharp early on after having the second spot in his crosshairs at the close of Saturday's rounds. He eventually qualified in fourth with 9.242 @ 152mph. Colorado boy J.J. Olson was less- than-a-tenth behind but 7mph faster to land in fifth. From there the pecking order consisted of Colin Ettinet (CRX 9.549), Darryl Hudson (Eclipse 9.654), Dan Troung (Integra 9.995), Rafael Estevez (Civic 10.192), Stephanie Eggum (Civic 10.561), Kerry Runnoe (Talon -10.751)and Jarrett Hadorn (CRX 12.787) to round out the 12-car faction.
