How about starting with apples and apples. Comparing a heavily modded 10 year old honda to a brand new mustang (with full factory warranty that hasn't seen any depreciation) isn't a valid comparison of performance/cost.

Start with an old mustang too and I think you'll see the difference. (BTW: I just picked up an 89 GT 5.0 for $1900)
