You shouldn't have to need one. Just changing the springs and struts. I guess it wouldn't hurt to check it out though.
you should always get an alignment after making major changes to your suspension! if his vehicle was stock its was aligned for that height not the lowerd height. lowering your vehicle can and 99.9% of time will throw your align out.
