Unless your car is pulling. But just changing out the springs and stuff will not make you eat threw tires prematuraly. Thats the whole reason of getting a alignment is to max out your tire wear. Or if your steering wheel is a crooked from curbing the car or whatever. I would suggest though raising it up to a resonable height if people are telling you no. That should have given you a hint.
