It costs every bit that much if not more to build a serious sleeved motor. A word of advice. You can build a motor faily cheap if you stay under 300whp. If you want more and want it done right and for it to last a little while then you need to spend some $$$$.
how much more im hopping to make 300+ with mine it was sleeved 83 1240bucks pistons 320 rods 300 rings 140,all balenced 260...thats all you get there my total 2200.plus i bought highflo waterpump/and oil pump that does not even come with bottom end gaskets or pan
