there are many resistance tests for the stator and rectifier/regulator to see if they are bad. Whats your battery voltage when the bike is running. more then 12.6 and its charging. also make sure your idle is somewhere around 1100 Bikes wont charge sitting at a lower idle. they need to break even at idle. As far as your running problem, hmm, whats all done to the bike? K+N? pipe? full system? was the carbs jetted? what was the last thing done before it started to run bad.
