Can you at least say you went to mx6.com? Or probetalk.com? They're probably the biggest resources for parts and cars you'll find.

Just understand that the n/a transmission won't hold up to the standard 145/190 hp/tq of the turbo engine. Will you be satisfied with stock numbers after doing a full conversion? I doubt it. So expect to bust a transmission in a month. Yes people have done the turbo on n/a transmissions. And I'm sure some survived longer. But I figure with all the work involved already, you're better off getting the transmission at the same time.

I'm not mechanically inclined much either. But you will learn. It's the only way to do anything without breaking the bank.

Look for someone junking a 1st gen GT with engine/transmission/turbo in good condition. It DOES happen. I know someone hopefully trading in her '88 MX-6 GT for a newer car. The car is so messed up otherwise, that it'll probably go to auction. Probably better to recondition a GT than try to convert an n/a.

I believe stock they come at 7psi, and can go up to 12 or 14 before the ECU runs out of mapping. Doesn't mean your fuel pump or injectors can though. Without the GT ECU, you'll need another management system I do believe. So take that into consideration while you're at it.

All things considered, it'll be nice to have another 1st gen around on the boards when you do finish. All the ones I've seen have just been changing hands...nobody keeping it to drive and post on here.
