Its the difference between a Technical Service Bulletin and an actual recall. Technical Service Bulletins are issued to the dealer to notify of mass problems. If its not safety related its not a recall. Just use those as a list of things to look out for. If you have something under your recall list the dealership has to replace or repair the defective part at no cost to you. It doesnt matter what your mileage is or if youre the original owner. Recalled repairs must be done whether the car shows symptoms or not.
We have a 92 Corrado VR6 that is going in for a heater core recall in a few days. We called the dealer with the VIN and they told us what recalls were on the car.
