Well i just wanted to say that my name is CHAD ( blue S14) one of those Englewood people....Me and My guys are very new to this sport and came out to learn and have a good time. Yes my friend did tolal his car , But it is not his daily driver. He understands the risks of any kind of racing.
I did not race My car alot ( although I did let Bill drive it )I was one of those people who brought there daily driver , I went out one time ( till my battery got messed up) I didnt do good , But it was still fun. I will be honest , I was very intimidated By the walls, But when I got on the track I just took it slow. I know my limits and didnt go past them. I think that is a big part of it.
To see all this Drama involved with the this makes me not want to get involved. I will admit I know nothing of DG trials or Miami or whatever is going on.. But a few people that wanted to go with me to Primus and Miami dont wish to go anymore because of all the drama That they have seen in this thread alone( I will still be going to both)
I just wanted to say thanks you to NO ANTS for your help with my guys and our cars. We learned alot just watching and talking to you all. And Bill Thank you for showing me what my car is capable of...Damn that was fun. I hope everything works out for the best , Me and my friends( for the most part ) will be coming to primus to race and learn more...Please dont be mad for me voicing my opinion I know im not in it , But this might be how it looks to other outsiders as well....
It was nice to hear from an outsider like yourself. I can really understand where you're coming from.. not wanting to drift or attend events because of the drama. I felt the same way after I saw the accidents. It made me feel like not drifting.
I'm sorry that this drama has effected some people this way, but it really isn't drama. This is important stuff that has to be dealt with. Not by you or myself, but it will be dealt with. Honestly, I am over it because I know now that it is in good hands. I know my opinion and decision on the matter and until Tony changes his motives, I will not be attending his events.
The only thing I can say to you is that Primus will give you much more of a chance to get to know your car without the worry of smashing into a wall. Anyone who doesn't attend an event at the Primus track (whether it be auto-x or drifting put on by whomever) is really missing out. The track itself is just incredible. The design is insane (and probably difficult, too) and the pavement looks pretty good, too. I doubt you will be disappointed.
Once the heat inside each person over this matter disperses, hopefully we can all go out to DDayII and participate as fellow drifters and pupils, not nemeses.
I apologize to anyone I have offended, except Tony who still hasn't given me any reason to respect his actions and words. I am apologizing because I have let personal emotions get to me because I was hurt. I have to learn that I made the right decision for myself and what anyone thinks of that decision shouldn't matter because I am going to practice drifting regardless.
Please don't let this type of discussion discourage you or anyone else from wanting to drift. That certainly wasn't the purpose. I hope you took the time to read Erik's letter and responses to fully understand his purpose.
Again, I am not offended. I can only thank you for bringing an outsider's voice into the whole situation. It has shed new light on this for me. Thank you.
