Yep.. I've received two tickets since I got my license when I was 16.. both when I was younger. Both officers told me that if they can hear it at all, they can ticket. I'm sure you could find a way to fight, but its not really worth it.

Definitely not anything new. They've been giving out these tickets for 10+ years.. I doubt there is any "crackdown"..
