And I know that the block is heay but im not really concerned with weight. The RB is capable of twin turbo. the people i know all have their sr's set up differently. I just wanna do something different because everyone has an sr and i ithink it would be nice to have a twin turbo rb under the hood of my car. Something different. You guys may not like my idea and i understand what you guys r trying to say. But I am willing to put time an effort into it. And in the end im hoping it will push atleast 800hp at the wheels. Maybe I will maybe I won't, but atleast I can say im trying. Im not looking for the easy way out of things. And once I start doing the motor swap Im converting my car to RHD.
Fact is that you REALLY need to do more research, your friends and the people you have spoken to online have blown wind up your ass.....
Here is how I place my arguement with you.
FACT.. In tampa and on this board we have at least 2 SR20's in the ~600RWHP area on COMPLETELY STOCK MOTORS...
FACT... There are at least 5 SR's in the country right now on completely stock motors over 550RWHP..
FACT.. The SR has produced 800-1000RWHP with built motors...
FACT.. The SR has been twin turboed (not really goign to give u any more power, just bling and extra cost)
FACT.. The SR is lighter, and ive NEVER heard of an SR block cracking..
Now.. If you really wanted me to, I could (within 24 hours) provide you with links that verify all of these claims....
I also know for a FACT, that "your friends" or "jspec" cannot provide links that support their claims for the RB25DET...
Even the RB26 tends to have troubles with stock internals at around 550-600rwhp.. Built motor it can rock with the 2JZ when it comes to absolute peak power, but in stock form, its not quite as spectacular as the 2JZGTE....
FACT.. The RB25DET is a ton of money to buy and install... (around 8600 dollars to make about 220-250whp and have LOTs more weight, terrible handling, and no accessories (AC, PS, stuf like that)....
FACT... An SR with 8600 thrown into it (including price of motor) will make around 300-350rwhp, be much lighter, work with the car to make a very good front rear weight distribution..
FACT.. Once you start modding the RB25.. lets say you throw 2000 more dollars at it...your now making 290whp according to XAT racing's website..
FACT.. with a total budget of 10600-11K dollars invested, an SR could be making around 400-430RWHP easilly.. have less weight... retain AC.. retain PS...
I dunno, you tell me if the RB 25 is worth paying 8600 dollars for (250whp or so + weight) to be blown away by a 5K-6K redtop install that has 245whp or so...
