The bottom of my car is covered showing only the the resonator catalytic converters muffler and all the exhaust piping. I dont think to get the full effect you can just cover up parts with sheet metal. These guys at Lexus and Mercedes really did their homework as they are engineers I think it would be hard to replicate what they did.
