SFI means sequential port fuel injection. Try pushing the gas to full when cranking anyway but I don't think thats the problem. It might be your cold start valve which gives more fuel to the engine to help with cold starts or something to do with your air or coolant temp sensors. I wish I could be of more help, but without seeing the problem for myself, its kinda hard to diagnose.
