I was planning on doing something similar to what i think you are talking about. I believe one of the posts on removing the silencer had some owners doing this; buying a large pvc pipe and running it from the airbox into the fender hole, now that the box doesn't reach. I can't see a negative to doing this, the airbox if probably sucking alittle bit of hotter air since there is that gap. I left my ram-air thing in and have it just pushing air towards the fender and the gap. Honestly i don't think it would be much of a noticeable difference anyway, like billy said. Most people plug the hole on the side where the ram-air thing used to connect to the snorkel, there's a subie oem part for the rs that fits perfect for like 5 bucks.
