SBCs and BBCs are pimp. Pretty much the same design over time with different tweaking depending on application needed during release date and technology availible. LS1s are nice because they are efficient and powerful. However, I'm pretty sure if you tweak an old SBC vs. tweaking a brand new LS1, they'd yield about the same power in the end, tho the aluminum design of the LS1 might make it weaker? Same for an old BBC vs. a "new" BBC, tho that design hasn't really changed at all I think. They still rev low as balls stock and have crazy torque, and when tweaked put out insane power.

European v8s, meh. Add a turbo to a v8 and you get power. Congratulations that they figured that out. Add a turbo to a v8 here, same result.

Someone's running around with a mostly stock internals (I think he finally added valve springs) 100,000+ mile LS1 w/ a T76 turbo I think and he's pushing over 750 rwhp and like over 850 rwtq. That's with stock compression, unforged pistons, no flow modsifications or cam modifications. Maybe injectors were changed I'm thinkin, but not sure they mentioned that. Anyway, motor is still runnin with that power on 14.5 lbs of boost.
