Something similar happened to my friend saturday night, The clutch just went out on him a few weeks after his clutch job. Turned out there is a plate on or around the transmisson (Sorry I'm tired) that holds the clutch cable at a certain position, Like the throttle cable. Make sure you have both bolts in and they are tight. He couldn't line it up properly when he did the clutch job, so he only had one bolt in, and it just spun loose after time, and the plate slid down, and the clutch wouldn't disengage.
