A real breaker bar is always better Bill, but good ones aren't cheap, that's why i suggested the pipe, wrench/ratchet setup.
I wouldn't call $10-25 expensive. You'll be paying about that much to replace the ratchet after the gearing mechanism takes a shit. A box wrench and a large pipe will work fine as well though. Still, if you're going to work on a car why not buy the correct tools?
