I use a small pint size zypherhills water bottle to messure and pour into tank with. I put about 8 oz to 10 gallons, it is not too messy, if I get it anywhere it is on the side of the bottle which is easily cleaned off. Get rid of the omp, engine oil is NOT made to burn and lube at the same time, unlike 2 stroke oil. The throttle cable should be quite easy to find, just start pulling on stuff that looks like it is connected to the primary throttle plates.
