Example: You buy a 1990 240sx for $1000. Complete swap with a few extras is about $6k (installed). Add suspension: another $1800, wheels and tires, add $1200, and voila', you have $10k invested. This is before a re-paint, seats, stereo, etc....

But somebody else has already done all that, and is probably going to end up selling their "baby" for about $6k, maybe $7k. You save a shit load.

and you are left with a car that 99% of the time isn't right. there are always little things not done right on this car you get for a deal, and it ends up costing you money getting it to where you want to be. plus, you don't know what little problems the car has here adn there , and there may be wierd things done to the motor etc that you aren't totally aware of. i don't reccomend doing this.
