close but most have a bypass valve now that will only open under about 65% throttle or more. but you are right just like a turbo it is always spinning. the only real adavantage is ease of installation. the jsrc is a sealed housing that requires no additional lubrication.
and SFP is def a good way to go.
the best daily driver jaxons are only making about 220 whp but it feels alot like all motor basically it feels like a larger motor. according to scott@overboost there is somone running a jrsc 20 something psi daily with something called a membrane aftercooler. but this i a completely rebuilt blower.
