So your saying a Vortech Centrifugal SC on a integra that makes 298 hp and 198ftlbs has no place on a track ? I could put that car in themid 12's with supporting mods and only spend about 6k ! on everything ! You also have to remember the TEST DRIVERS might not be able to drive these types of cars !
ok we aren't going to start on your dedication to all forced induction items being called superchargers, i think that was covered in h/a forum.
no since the centrifugal blower has a direct relation to the crank speed and since the avg 4 cylinder makes no torque of note below 4k, centrifugal blowers have no place on 4 cylinders. as they accelerate the numbers improve esp after you gain enough compressor speed to overcome the parasitic loss of the blower. centrifugals are great on stroker motors that do have low end tq, but lack power in the top end due to incredible piston speed and dwell time... most popular form of supercharging trucks.
a turbo (or as you like to call it... turbine powered supercharger) has a compressor wheel speed relative to the exhaust flow, and can be varied as far as additional manifold pressure by use of a waste gate, essentially aiding in keeping the unit into a better efficiency range.
and don't give me that crap about the drivers not being worth a rats ass, if the car is so great then the numbers wouldn't be off by that much... from multiple sources.
4 clyinders work better with positive displ blowers, which have a greater effect on the low and midrange, but do start to suffer at high speeds.
