you can usually get them out with a very small screw driver or some sort of small piece of metal that fits round the plug to push down the clip that holds it in. Can you just bend the female end to get a little better connection? Also, are you completely sure its the connector. It's very common for the connections on the powersupply components to go bad. By wiggling the wire you might actually be moving the circuit board enough to get it to make contact with the loose solder connections. Try pulling the board out and resoldering each spot real quick with a soldering iron.
