As far as a VTEC controler - I wouldnt waste your money on one with an internaly stock car. Honda knew what they were doing with their production motors. The only time you really need to adjust your VTEC switchover point or change fuel curves is when you have some internal work. EXAMPLE - Going to camshafts with higher lift and longer duration will usually warrent you moving UP your VTEC point as to not drown out your motor with fuel in the low end and things like that. Id start saving for that swap. Save every penny that you would normaly throw at your car and one day youll be 200xs happier.

Mmmm I love backpressure arguments.
So how do you figure that backpressure will help your car? Well in some cases it does due to valve overlap since exhaust scavenging can actually over-scavenge and suck out some of the intake charge. Anyways in that case backpressure will prevent such an excess of scavenging BUT if you actually tune your car (cam-gears) you can play with the overlap and therefore negate the need for any backpressure and increase fuel economy as well since there will be no loss of intake charge and a greater loss of exhaust residue. Cars only need backpressure if they arent tuned well or factory requires a silent exhaust note. And as for the argument that larger exhaust piping decreases backpressure and thats the reason why you lose power nope its primarily due to the loss of exhaust gas velocity in relation to piping diameter. Well thats enough silly talk time to go grab a beer...
