ok, i'll go through it slow this time.....
i'm not angry at anyone, i just want to be heard, i dont want you to make a small problem a big one and possibly fuck up something, i myself having already gone through this am offering a soloution.......
ford gt/v6 bodies have the trans crossmember a good bit forward of where the cobra one sits, for some reason the geniuses of SVT decided to place the crossmember farther back on the cobra bodied cars.... why ? i have no clue, as i'm sure if you called ford they wouldn't either.......
the cobra t-45 trans was made to fit this farther back crossmember, so the mount point was placed farther back, the gt t-45 (exact same in and out, asides the mount point) dits further up where the auto crossmember is.........
so, if you take the GT tailhousing off and swap it onto the cobra trans that you have, they will work perfectly, with no problems......
all you need to do this is take off the 10 or 12 bolts that hold the tailshaft on, then up on the shifter rail is a pin, use a pin punch to get that out, swap the tails, press/hammer the pin back in .... use some RTV and bolt it back up..........
it will all work perfectly, they are exactly the same asides the mount......
why ford had to do this stupid thing is a mystery...... i think ford just likes changing random things on random models for no reason...........
it is very easy, the tailshaft should be cheap, and you dont have to worry about hacking off and re welding or anything like that....
yes if you did chop that crossmember and re-weld it, it would work.... but that just seems alot harder to do than turn ten bolts and push out one pin............
your car do what you want...... i meant non of my words personally, i just want you to listen and not make a mistake......

ps in my post earlier, with the noise from the tranny i used, that isnt from the tailshaft, he sold me an older cobra trans that had been beat on but works........ i just wanted it cuz i messed up my other trans 2nd gear.......
doing this to your car will not hurt it, they are the same tailshaft........ i'd even invest in a phone call to borg warner- now-tremec and ask them........ or search the net and find others who did this, i did and talked to a few guys about it, but i dont have their e mail anymore and forget where/ what site i saw it on......
