depending on the care the owner gave it check for a few things
oil leaks (esp. rear main seal)
coolant leaks
clutch engagement
vtec engagement
ask for service records
look underneath the car at cv boots
after driving honda's for 17 years, i can tell by a test drive.
my 91 dx 1.5 motor had 207,000 miles on it before i swapped the engine and ran so smooth and quiet...ahhh. took it out and found a couple of oil leaks.

but i believe it had another 100k to go.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.
