Mars...I know the F body/Tq arm suspension is tough to understand....believe me I know..lol.

Basically the drive shaft loop was just integrated into the Tq arm mount. It doesnt do much except try to contain the DS if it should snap.

The important stuff is basically the bar to the left of the drive shaft...its the Tq arm. Its mounted to the rear end. It does a few things. When you launch hard it will transmit the twisting force of the rear to that fwd mount...pushing up. This helps transfer weight to the rear by lifting the front. It can be a considerable force. The Tq arm aslo is used to adjust pinion angle for the rear U joint. Keeps the DS and the yoke on the rear end aligned. The Tq arm now has 5 adjustment points on the front mount. That will change how the force is transmitted.

The other thing about this setup...is it takes the fwd Tq armattach point off the tranny. The stock piece is attached to the tranny on a weak aluminum mount. The stock Tq arm is also just a weak stamped steel piece. MIne is now chrome moly. The cross brace is tied into the subframe connectors. Cross brace is stainless steel.

All in all that Tq arm should be strong enough for low 9s high 8s easy.
