Tires failing has nothing to do with the car no matter how the media wants to spin it. Hear about anymore roll over problems now that Firestone is gone ? Did't think so. 
One more side note to the reliability issues tell me how many 80's-90's Camaros you see running around vs. the same timeframe Mustangs. That says enough about reliability.
Reliability doesnt have much to do with that.... Mustang parts are a whole lot more plentiful compared to F body parts of that year and a whole lot cheaper. How many Mustangs of that era do you see stock? Many more parts, so people are building those.
