ok, so i got my new (2001) gt engine today, and it has a 6 bolt crank. my 99 gt engine has an 8 bolt crank.

is it possible that the 99 engine has a forged crank in it, or did they make cast 8 bolt cranks and put them in some of the sohc engines?

if the crank is forged i'll swap it with the new one. otherwise, i'll go buy a flywheel
