I'd have to say if you don't even have the option of having another car to drive then don't get a bike. I've heard numerous accounts of people getting sick of riding everyday even when it's nice out. Then if it rains or is too cold your going to be miserable. Stick with a car until you can afford both a bike and a car.
You could pick up say a 96 or so cbr 600. Would be a good starter bike and you could get one pretty cheap. It's also to my understanding with a motorcycle you are not required to carry insurance, so it shouldn't be too hard on the wallet to own a bike with a car, just having to pay the initial cost of the bike which would be around $2500-3500 I'd say.
