With today's engine technology, don't beat on it the first 200 miles is MORE than sufficient. Some sets of rings used in race motors actually wear in while spinning the motor over by hand during engine assembly.

Only thing I would suggest is wait 1500-2000 before switching to synthetic. Synthetic doesn't allow a motor to fully break in and once the damage is done by switching too early its done. Better wait and be sure.
