I have never had to replace one of these before, so I dont know what information you need to know about the car. Its an 89 hatch. Thank you for looking.

 

now would be a good time to replace it with a HICAS rack. they have better steering angle.

 

actually i guess you could put spacers on your tie rods and thatll give you more angle too

 

Hicas rack will turn your wheels faster. Has a better ratio of turns. I don't know how to say it...

I have a stock rack if you need one. $75 picked up in 34452. Has inner and outer tie rods on it that seem to be in good shape.

basically, HICAS rack, you dont need to turn your steering wheel as much to get full lock angle.

 

or get a s14 rack

 

Hicus rack is 14:1 non hicus is 17:1 or the other way around. There is no added angle. Its 2 &1/2 turns lock to lock over 3 is what changes. I use one and it feel great. I have a unknown condition rack with inners and shot outers from a 92 vert for $10. Not tryin to make money but my time is worth something.

 

got a rack no inners or outers 30 bucks picked up, no leaks excellent working order

 

From what I heard S14 racks are pretty much the same as s13 racks as far as steering ratio/angle. I have one and I honestly can't notice a difference.
