WTB 01-02 Excursion
Damn, thats just retarded. But much like a fox coupe, it is all about what the seller wants for it, and when a buyer is willing to pay for it. Personally, I say wait till gas hits 5 bucks a gallon, thats when they will be dirt cheap, I bought mine a few years back when diesel was hitting over 4.50 a gallon, for a super low price with only 50K miles on it.

I bought my truck with a warranty from a wholeseller for 15200 out the door. Also, I have the 6.0 also, I wanted newer. I will be doing the EGR delete, the oil cooler and head studs when it goes out, which I bought already (2 Years ago) and those are the weak link for these motors. Surprisingly, I have not had one bit of bad luck from this truck at all, I religiously change the oil at 5K miles, fuel filters every 10K miles. And it has been a damn good truck with no issues. But yeah, there are plenty of guys that have these Ex's with the 6.0 that are pushing well over 550 HP with just those minimal mods. And still getting over 15-18 mpg.
They are just really sought after trucks what it comes down too, especially the 7.3. People here the story of the 6.0's failing and yeah they do, but look to the people that have had no issues at all that dont even post anything. There are tens of thousands.....

The 6.0's are reasonably priced (less than 20k). I had a 05 F-250 4dr 4x4 6.0 and didnt have any issues with it, so I may just go that route. there are several nice ones out there that I like but a 2wd, I really want a lifted one being this is a trade-off for a truck.
Something like this...but this one is a gasser

Here's an 05 2wd...104k and $21,500

Late 04 + 6.0Ls have a redesigned egr cooler than the problematic 03-04. I haven't touched a newer designed egr cooler in the past 30 or so 6.0L iv worked on. The last one i did was a newer 04 tire service truck that had over 260k.....If you can get a late 04+ 6L you cant go wrong. And at 100k these trucks are just getting broke in. Before you buy 1, bring it by an we will check it out for you.....

I averaged 13.8 mpg coming back from Ohio loaded down heavy with Jeffs car and parts. Those mountain hills were no joke either.

7.3 would make easy work of these hills. I had a 93 F250 with the 7.3 Power Stroke and that truck got 19 mpg empty or loaded,.. it was the same no matter what. If I ever get the chance to buy another I will.
