Escort Turbo Round 3
This will be my 3rd turbo Ford Escort build.
Just making a thread to post photos in it of my build. This will also be updated on my escortsport.com site as well. I'll give you guys a rundown of what I have and what I'm doing.
1995 Ford Escort 2 Door LX 1.9
1995 1.9 Block
1997- 2.0 SPI Head
This block/head combination will give me the flow of a 16-valve 2.0 engine with around a 7.9 compression ratio.
Taurus 3.8 Throttle Body to ported intake
Cometic Head Gasket
SVO IHI Mustang turbo (.60/.63 from the previous build is just too big for this motor lol)
JGS Tools Custom T3 Manifold from previous build
Moates programming with 48lb injectors
Phantom Grip LSD that I used in the old SPI turbo build.
255LPH TRE Performance fuel pump
Photos will be up as soon as I get some taken. I already have the SPI head with the better intake valves. I may switch over to some double valve springs before I put the head on.
This is an old photo of the previous turbo and manifold. I'm re-using this manifold, the turbo is still around but not going to put that puppy on again, I learned my lesson with a broken rod .

Gotta watch out for those IHI T3's. They are a viscious lot! It's all relative to what's on the receiving end. I could see where it might rough up a 1.9 after it's been accustomed to feeding a 2.3.

Head Came in. Nothing Special just a 2.0 SPI head with titanium seats and valves. Stock. Not going to do anything to the head, it flows good enough for what I'm doing. This is a DD sleeper not a full on track whore .
It has some headgasket material I have to scrape off. I bought it from a guy that started a build then abandoned it. Never actually ran the engine he built just assembled it on a stand then dis-assembled it.

T25 Garret Turbo, a little smaller than an IHI. I also have a DSM intercooler that that piping is going to, it's in a box somewhere
Came off a 2.0 Saab 9-3 NO shaft play.
The beast that's getting the turbo, the paint job on this car is horrid and it's staying that way. It looks like the person before me dumped a can of paint on the roof and let it run down then used a paint brush to fill in spots that it didn't cover .

Moates chip, 42lb green top injectors (they might be a little much, but it'll get the job done! )
I've been burning these chips for other peoples cars for quite a while. As well as doing some tuning on the lower horsepower cars. I'm not experienced enough to dabble in the 600+ horsepower beasts yet, that and they won't be using a chip on the stock box with those cars anyways haha.
