Well after some time of being out of the Honda game (5+ years) I decided to buy a 2000 Civic Coupe Ex 5-speed. Decent condition and completely stock minus hood, suspension and rims which is pretty nice since it isn't all hacked up. Picked it up for $800 with a bad ignition (owner didn't know what was wrong or didn't want to fix it). Since ignition is fixed, starts up perfectly and runs great. However, since this isn't my daily I won't be driving it anytime soon.

Plans are Euro-r H22a Turbo around 5-700hp (eventually). This project could take years to finish as I want everything on the car to be pretty much replace brand new so I know I won't have much issues when done. It could also take this long as i have a 4-month old baby boy and may eventually want to turn this into a track car for him and I. So time and money isn't terribly tight but don't want to just throw a bunch of money in all at once and just take my time and do it right.

so this is what the CF hood looked like when I got it. Had some chips all around it which was making the hood hold moisture.



so I put some resin after some sanding to make sure it didn't hold moisture and further mess up the hood. This was just a quick fix (2days not so quick lol) but just wanted the moisture to stop retaining. Will do a deeper shaving and remove all imperfections in resin to make like new again. Still some scratches but looks a whole lot better.

That is hard to believe that you brought the hood back from "carbon fiber zombie death".

Not as hard as people think. As long as it hasn't messed up the threading in the carbon fiber it can be like new again. Also, this was done with a rattle can so actual reclear will be done when I paint the car.
