Default Blown turbo? IDK

So IDK my turbo is gay, its not your typical my turbo and blown its pouring smoke. My turbo isnt smoking a bit just isnt really making boost. It like maxs out at 14lbs. I have a .86 back housing so dont say I just have a small turbo blah. IDK typically in the past whenever I have shit like this I just buy a new turbo but I'm feeling cheap. So anyways my question is what seal or what would cause the car to just not make boost? I'm not an idiot so please dont tell me I have boost leaks or something because I dont.

Have you checked your wastegate? Sounds like it might be leaking or opening to much!

your turbo is too small and you prbly have boost leaks!!

lol jk but seriously look over every little coupler abd check for small cracks and all that, but like the other dude said, you may have bent/broke your WG spring, or simply lost seal from it losening up. . .

No boost leaks and wastegate isnt the problem.. any other ideas? Yea I wanna go to a large topmount setup but I need to get a few other things taken care of first.

I have bebuilt countless turbo's. But if it involves replacing wheels then I dont touch them, as the turbo needs to be balanced.

On the issue at hand. there is a large O-ring on the compressor housing which in some cases dries out and cracks thus causing a massive leak. The seal is located on the outer edge of the compressor housing and is accesable by removing the compressor housing (not hard) if its a normal T3 - T4 style turbo just reomve the 6 - 1/2" bolts that hold the housing together. this will not throw anyh=thing off and allow you to further inspect the wheel.

If its not that, have you inspected your turbin and compressor wheels closely? shaftplay?

I had a brand new Garrett GT35R and a PTE SC60 come with bent shafts! not to noticable with the eye but under extreme pressure (10psi+) the wheel is forced into the side of the housing causing a massive reduction in speed/flow. hell the SC60 wouldnt build but 2psi!

Hope some of this helps and isnt to late?

Had a Precision 60 completely rebuilt from a well known shop new journal bearings seals all new wheels and then spun balanced. It lasted about a month now it needs a rebuild again. not worth it for my money. Just bought a new bigger one.
