Tattoo artists in the northeast could experience a decline in business after Dale Earnhardt Jr. bids farewell to his Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series career on Sunday.

Through her unflinching dedication to stock car racing's most popular driver, Maine's Lisa Asselin, aka "NASCAR Girl," has turned her body into a public shrine to the two-time Daytona 500 winner. The epitome of a dedicated racing fan, Asselin's unwavering support for Dale Jr. is on display in every direction.
The ink, which includes a proud declaration up front, a portrait on her back of Dale Sr. atop a heavenly staircase with his son at the bottom, a Martinsville grandfather clock on one leg and a giant No. 88 Hendrick Racing Chevy on the other, along with more spread across arms, thighs and calves, takes fandom to a new level.

Asselin's colorful passion for the 43-year-old superstar lives at the outer edges of what the sport can produce.
"They were very painful but the clock 'tat hurt the most because when I first got [it], it really got infected and I ended up in the emergency room," she told NASCAR Illustrated. "But when it healed, I had the clock tat redone, and now it looks great. The pain was all worth it."
