Some AWESOME Auto Photography (w) Lighting Diagrams...
In most cases involving prints smaller than your average movie poster, you cant see the difference in image quality with a Hassy vs. a pro level DSLR.
I have a friend that shoots an older Hassy with a digital back, and his prints arent anything to write home to momma about when we use the same company for print work.

Sooooo... I guess the guy behind the camera has nothing to do with it give anyone a 25,000 camera and 4hrs with photoshop...... presto!!!!
IN fact the shot above is a Nikon D2xs $6000.00 Ambient Life Photography: The Hype: What Digital Camera Feature ....
Seriously!!! The photos are maddd and the photographer is a baddasss!!!! IMHO the really amazing part of his photography is the lighting & composition, a lot of photographers just point lights to the subject and just blast away, any photographer worth his glass understands the importance of light, and the difference it makes
I just love the work...

Lighting, the key in some cases to creating a great image. Most of the lighting that we use is field portable such as Elinchrom and ProFoto, this is essential to our work as heavy and unreliable generators add expense and time to a shoot often. We do receive a great deal of emails from photographers who want to emulate the work that Tim produces and lighting diagram requests are a frequent item in our inbox.
Tim- "Lighting is a very personal thing and in truth its simply not possible to copy a lighting set up and get the same result. The way that I approach lighting is very simple, in cases where you will have multiple lights in play it's important to 'light up' to the subject slowly, what I mean is do not over light the car, throwing huge belts of light at it from different directions, a lot of my work I like to look as if its not been lit at all, subtle so to speak.....
Also people in my view make little use of the best light source that they have, the sun!, it's very underrated and if you look back at the time of the great masters you'll note that many used to employ a lighting technique that meant lighting in the same direction as the sun instead of against it as many seem to now.

I like the old photographers saying...
"If someone gave you a piece of pie, and you loved it. Would you ask them what oven they used to bake it?"

I hear it all too much. All over forums and even said to me personally. "That photo is awesome you must have an expensive camera" that is like a guitarist shredding out an insane solo and someone saying "That solo was amazing, you must have an expensive guitar" I know people probably don't mean it to be for the most part, but it is offensive. In a way it is implying that the photographer did nothing but own an expensive piece of equipment an press a button without realizing there is much more to it than that.

The fact that 90% of the photegs think by putting a key and a fill light on their subject thats lighting a subject...
This guy has no hot spots he knows what he's doing & sadly he could have still gave you the same image with a prosumer camera.
Photo world has moved to 60% post - 40% location or even then you can do more post then location now a days you fix everything in post.
Bugs on the bumper, no problem we'll remove them in post. You get my drift?
