Default Motor Mount replacement....

I need to replace my mounts. I've read that some of the better places to jack/ lift the motor while doing a mount swap is by the alternator and ac mount brackets on each side of the block. Would you guys advise this as being a good method? I'm curious about your experiences with this process. I have one that split and needs to be done before the car is road worthy again.

Thanks fellas,

-Royce

Removing the hood and using an engine hoist is the easiest way. I guess you could try jacking up from the ac or alternator brackets but I wouldn't for fear of the jack slipping and smashing some part of me while I was replacing the mounts.

Yeah...that would be best...wish i had one. My plan was to place a jack stand or two under the motor/ bellhousing just in case something did slip. Never did this type of swap out before...so i figured I'd ask to avoid losing any appendages.
