Kevin (mewantkouki), didn't you beat a loud exhaust ticket?

the way i see this, is it was a blatant display of profiling.... pulled out of the ocala meet (Met a drifter buddy to drop off some gauges, wasn't there 10 minutes), and like i said, i pulled out of the parking lot at nothing near what would be considered excessive, left the parking lot, had to go slow because of the dip in the exit so i wouldn't hit my lip for the 23409237840293 time, made the right turn, a red light, not 200ft away that i basically idled up to, made a right AFTER the green not on red, made it maybe 50ft before the blues and twos came on. like i said, speeds never were in excess of 25-30mph, RPMs never in excess of 1500...

SO, after doing some research on the "loud exhaust" ticket (not modified, although i think they fall in the same category, but yeah, loud exhaust, i found a few things)

cannot be louder than factory
cannot be audible from over 50ft (how retarded is that? a you can hear a KIA Rio 50ft away)

I've researched and:

STOCK R32 GTR is at 98db @ 5100rpm
HKS Super Dragger is 112db @ 5000rpm

so what's up with only being around 1500rpm?
i was never more than 35 - 40 feet away from the cop at any giving moment is the 30 seconds i was BEHIND him
they have no way to know the OEM DB of the exhaust, nor the DB of my exhaust

i mean, it pretty much seems if some fat ass decided to yank me, to see if i had warrants, or just to issue the $116 ticket, yeah, not $75, and all he could get me for was a weak ass "loud exhaust" that i wasn't even being "loud" with.


yeah, i know, it's only $116, but that's still way out of line compared to the ricer honda kids that were pulling out before and after me at WOT (honda owners gotta show off that vtack), and then i pull out like an old lady, basically idle to the light 200ft away, and i get tagged, for what?

i've been yanked in my car 4 times now, and not once has my exhaust been an issue with any other agency, ASO, GPD, SAPD, one ASO even commented while i was pulled how he was surprised how quiet my car is for what kind of car it is.

so, this doucher cop, he tagged me, never more than 35-40ft away (well within the 50ft law), for my exhaust that was never more than 1500rpm, no Db reading, just "ey boy, that thur muffler's kinda lowd, hur's yur ticket, make it quieter" i mean, i pulled out of the parking lot right next to the cop, i saw him in plain view, so like i'm really going to do some stupid shit like all the ricer kids do.... most of you know that 90% of the time, i leave the ale house without any "fanfare", i just roll out and head home like i was driving a buick.


Kevin, i know you beat yours, although everyone was like "fuck you faggot, you're going to lose, that's what you get" and then you went to court, beat it, and had to pay the $25 court costs... which to me, would be a lot better than a retarded $116 ticket.

Marshall, whats your muffler look like? After our first ticket for that BS, cop told me to flat black the muffler and most cops wouldnt look twice at it. We painted ours black, havent had a problem since.

 

i guess i can pull off the back half, and have it powder coated...


my thing is that i just pulled out easy, to not hit my lip, basically idled to the light 200ft away, made my right turn beside the cop, driving extra careful to not raise attetion, and as soon as i made the turn the blues and twos came on and i stopped 50ft away...

 

Yea man, the cop told me it want the noise, we were just cruising too. He told me its the look of the muffler that gets people pulled, not always the sound. It all comes down to money man, thats all they want, and to fuck with you.

 

yeah, in my instance, with as easy and careful as i was driving RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE COP, it was most def a $$$ thing, as the actual stop was less than 5 minutes, it was "license, stay in the car (fast forward 3-4 minutes) sign right here sir" and was over with...

I have gotten one once as well.

The law states that in FL you cannot modify your exhaust whatsoever. So your in the fault.

$116 sounds better to me than paying court fees and wasting a day and more time playing stupid.

 

Its all BS! If you had a 69 camero with cutouts they would probably all say damn that sounds good! A cop even told me that after he pulled me for suspended license (my baby momma was driving and he looked sad that he didnt get to take me to jail lol).
