Default Offset Question

I'm no good with wheel offsets. I am looking for rims for my s13 vert. I don't know squat about offsets, how well would a +42mm offset fit?

I googled it but most of the info was for staggered wheels with pulled fenders. I'm not pulling my fenders. I don't know. Thanks Mclovin for the info.

you should have something in the low 30's with a 8.5 wide wheel at least...... thats is close to the most offset you can have and still look closer to flush. If you really want flush you'll need even less..

front 17x8 +25 or higher. Over low 30s will look like ass.

rear if staying stock would be 17x8.5 (8 to be safe) +20 or higher

stock brakes/suspension the options are decent. Zbrakes and coilovers narrows it down to very few.

The Z wheels I had were +30 and +33 on stock setup with a body kit and they were on an s14. On an s13 you can get away with that set up and it won't be that bad. It Definatley won't be balla, but it won't be that bad either.

pretty much any Z or G wheel would look decent on a 13, but then again, you would have to convert to 5 lug. for 4 lug you are kind of screwed on finding decent looking OEM (from any company) 4 lug options. Good luck.

The ones I am looking at now are 17 x 7 1/2 with an offset of 32. I don't need staggered because I'm not going to mod the car and the tires would be cheaper.

7 1/2 +32 will be better, but not great in the front. But part of the reason staggered sizing is popular is because the rear wheels can tolerate wider wheels/lower offsets. This being the case, the 7 1/2 +32 will be slightly more sunk in the rear. Not sure what your budget is, but I would just recommend you do serious searching before you jump into a set of wheels. Unless of course its some stellar deal...

What's wrong with stock offsets (42")?
I know there was a sticky somewhere, maybe in a different forum. There is plenty of information listed about offsets.
What people above me posted got it right.
There is no correct offset. It depends on what one is trying to accomplish.
There are many solutions to customize wheel fitments.
