S13 ka24de header question
Ok, Tsuchiya... My car couldn't be farther from being setup for straight line driving, so I'm not sure exactly where you are going with that. Drifting isn't the only "skilled" form of motorsport and you'd be very naive to believe it was. Spending $150-$350 on a header is retarded plain and simple. If you don't believe me strap your car to a dyno with a stock header and your exhaust and compare back to back numbers with the header installed and the same exhaust. Torque will drop and I doubt you'd see more than a 5-7whp gain. If your car came with one cool, but to go out of your way to put one on is not very bright unless it's dirt cheap.
I'm just saying, unless you're into straight line driving, I think it'd be best for people to learn whatever motorsport with lower power. I think buying one new would be stupid. I wouldn't have had one if my car didn't come with one, but they're not as useless as you're making them out to be.
or let dude do what he wants to do. not everyone has to things based on what people say on tamparacing. if he wants to use his money for a low power gain upgrade let him do it.

Ok I take that back. It takes some skill. But the fact is it mostly depends on horsepower. Perfect example is Charlie that has an NA KA and was beating up on SR'd S13s at Formula D pro am. I'm sure if those same cars were to drag race, the SR'd S13s would win every time regardless of drivers, unless it's an incompetent person driving.
But this isn't about drag racing. My point is not everyone wants a shit ton of horsepower all at once, and headers are a good upgrade as a small step.

A KA "header" holds its value nicely unless you fuck it up, so once you decide you want real power you can just sell it like I'm doing. Not everyone wants to start off their cars with 200+hp. I'm glad I didn't start sliding with an SR or a substantial amount of power, because I see plenty of people who do and they just never learn as well as people who start out with low power. Now if straight line is your thing then sure just save for boost, because that doesn't seem to take much skill.
When you can consistently knock down sub 2.0sec 60's, or keep a car with 400,500,600whp from tagging a wall on street tires, "in a straight line"
Please, feel free to demonstrate.
Ok well considering the op is even considering keeping an NA KA, I really don't think we should be talking about 400+hp. At that point, yes I agree it takes a lot of skill. But as far as the whole stock sr swap, building an NA KA, it won't take much skill.
And you srsly need to answer your phone more often.

This is TR. 9/10 of these broke dick kids will never do a high compression ka build or port a head. So for all intensive purposes I'll stick to my statement.
